Dorea's sense of touch is profound, she can read your tension and energy level like a book. Whatever given day, given season, she figures out where you are and what you need. I always trust that Dorea's hands will take care of me in the most holistic way possible.
Dorea D'Agostino founded Restorative Bodywork in 1994. Since then her practice has brought relief & recovery to a diverse community of hard working people - professional dancers and athletes, school teachers, woodworkers, IT geeks - just about any profession you can imagine - what brings these people together is a passion for their work and a desire to stay healthy so they may continue to make their contributions our greater community. Social responsibility and environmental sustainability are key to the Restorative Bodywork practice. Ms. D'Agostino strives to serve by aiding others to overcome muscular injuries and strain so whatever pain they may be troubled with will not interfere with doing their work in the world.
Dorea is fabulous! No matter what body part is ailing, she seems to know how to work on it so that I leave feeling sooo much better than I arrived. She also gives great suggestions for stretches or exercises to help correct the problem.
A graduate of the Muscular Therapy Institute, a nationally renowned school of bodywork, Ms. D'Agostino has also completed the Meir Schneider School of Self-Healing practitioner/educator training, is certified in Samvahan - an ayurvedic healing modality, Reiki, Craniosacral Therapy (CST). She is a member or the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and is licensed in Massachusetts.
Dorea D'Agostino was a selected therapist for the Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center's Study of Alternative Therapies for Acute Low Back Pain. In 1997 she was selected to provide Muscular Therapy for the Boston tour of Riverdance. Early in her career she worked for the Boston University Sports Medicine unit and was the Muscular Therapist for the Boston University Women's Track and Cross Country Team. She provided bodywork on a volunteer basis for many years for clients of the Boston Living Center and from there went on to create an alternative therapies program for the Women's Lunch Place, a day shelter for women in need. In addition to many years of bodywork experience, Ms. D'Agostino also brings to her practice knowledge gathered from 20+ years of dance and martial arts study.
Dorea is an extremely skilled bodyworker with both book knowledge and intuitive sensibility. As a dancer, I have been to many, many bodyworkers, and Dorea by far outshines the others.
